Welcome To The Island of Misfit Toys

It's less than a month until my contract runs out at my flat in Camden, so it's coming to an official end of my second year living in London. As much as I want to move out of our tiny flat, there is still a slight tinge of sadness for having to move out of this unique town. Walking through the high street you are transported to so many different foreign places whether its the smell of spices coming from the street food market, the vibrant fabrics of the Indian stalls or the street performers expressing their love for their country. The raw bricks painted warm colours transport you to the streets of South America. The town fills you with endless amounts of inspiration and the creatives who reside here are not shy. They will express themselves loud and clear with paintings on the wall. Even the half-naked man who likes to show off his dad dance moves by the station can't keep away for long. You have the 'Bang Bang chicken man' who will serenade you in his unusually squeaky voice as you walk by. Need a new album to listen to? There is always someone to greet you along the high street with their new mixtape (which is more than likely a blank CD). As you walk into the main market you are greeted by the scent of fresh oranges, buy a carton of their juice for £1 and I promise you will not be disappointed. The orange juice is so good it is worth getting out of bed for in a very hungover state. Of an evening, the bars are blearing out cheesy old school songs from rock to pop to blues. You name it and the bar will play it. You will have the most fun on a night in Camden than anywhere else. The free-spirits encourage you to let your hair down and dance like nobody is watching. Nobody cares in Camden. Go crazy, Wildcat. My heart will forever be in BarFly. To end the perfect evening you have the choice of Woody's Grill or King of Falafel. Woody's Grill chicken shish wrap is the best thing since sliced bread. It's been a whirlwind of a year in Camden - but I'm sure my times there won't stop when I move out.
