Wild At Heart

'Some birds are not meant to be caged, that's all. Their feathers are too bright, their songs too sweet and wild. So you let them go, or when you open the cage to feed them they somehow fly out past you. And the part of you that knows it was wrong to imprison them in the first place rejoices, but still, the place where you lice is that much more drab and empty for their departure' - Stephen King

The 70s was an era for the free spirits, the dreamers, the wild ones. Heads constantly in the clouds, hearts full of passion. Always on the move, gettting their hands and feet dirty in what ever mud they could find. Their clothes gracefully echoed every swift twist and turn they took on their adventures. As First Aid Kit said, ‘keep on, keeping on’.

This is an editorial my friend Tia shot for me as part of my university project. I was very much inspired Porter magazine's editorial in the Summer edition (I think it was that issue, it was a 70s inspired shoot). I have always loved the idea of being wild and free and I don't think there is anything other than the sea that encompasses it more than a forest. You have the unruly bushes, the entwining tree branches that grow and change and the wildlife that calls that forest its home. London lacks them, but Highgate forest certainly makes up for the lack of as it's beautiful. I can't wait for the day I go to the deer park in Richmond, I think I'll be in my kind of heaven.
