It’s the simple things.
As I sit and write this I am bathing in the
English summer’s sun at 11:30am on the hammock in my garden. It feels like I’m on
a Caribbean island a million miles away from here. I’m soaking in every moment
of the summer, letting my skin get kissed by the sun and overdosing myself in
vitamin D; the happy vitamin. It’s the simple things like this that make me
happy.
I may not be able to get away to a foreign
place this summer but I am making the most of every chance I can get to make it
feel like I have. It’s the simple things like soaking myself in oil, lying on
the hammock for endless amounts of hours a day, finding an outdoor pool to swim
in or even driving down to my local beach and taking in the sea-salt polluted
air. It’s all about making the most of things that you have around you.
Sometimes you don’t need to travel to another country to get the sun-kissed
skin and sea salt hair; although it would be rather nice to be able to get away
from this country for a little while. It’s safe to say I live in a constant
state of wanderlust.
