Moss & Meadows: Kids On The Run

Bohemians may be wanderers, adventurers, vagabonds. They live an unconventional lifestyle, often surrounded by like-minded people with few permanent ties, involving creative pursuits.

In The Woods

ph. Porter magazine

'Ethereal, flowing layers and dainty feminine prints mix with a playful adventurous attitude for a spirited style that's perfect for the magical time between summer heat and fall's promise. So, with an electric blend of cameo brooches, tactile kimonos and 70's denim, make like folk goddess Michelle Phillips with a song in your heart and Woodstock in your mind.'

When Porter magazine's first issue got published I was a bit skeptical about its quality of content. Although, I should have known that a publication by Net-A-Porter would be nothing but of the highest standard. And it was.

The Fall 2014 issue blew my mind. I have never been interested in fashion magazine editorials since they have always been too focused on the clothes, however the 70's editorial in the Fall issue stole my heart. It told a story to me. A story of girl, who loved to explore the depths of nature, a la Pocahontas. She is free-spirited, wild at heart and never fully satisfied with life. The clothes she wore would match her spirit. Taking inspiration from the wild and free era of the 70's. The flare in her jeans matched the flare of the fire in her heart. The sheer, flowing material of her dresses would show her open, free-spirited personality. The floral embellishments is her fun and creative side beaming through. The lack of shoes allows her to connect with nature and her skin to breathe. But when the shoe must be chosen - it's sturdy - allowing her feet to wander, go on fulfilling adventures. And the woods allows her to be all this and more. Allows her to be unapologetically herself at all times.

This editorial spoke to me in so many ways. It embodies so many traits I wish to possess. It embodies a lifestyle I wish to live. It has the style of the era I wish I lived in. The days of freedom, Jimi Hendrix and Woodstock. Where peace was everything.

Woodstock Circus

ph. dazed digital

"I've had a dream of doing a full collection of rock-style clothing for a very long time now. People don't really know me now for my love of music—the Beatles, the Stones, Hendrix, the Who—so I thought I would celebrate my passion, my beginnings, my roots" -Tommy Hilfiger

Tommy Hilfiger took a different path with his Spring/Summer 15 collection. Steering away from his preppy style shown in previous collections and also the modern, structured, tailored pieces that we have seen from the majority of the collections so far at NYFW, sticking true to New York. Hilfiger took inspiration from his personal roots with his love of music.

With the theme of the show being a Woodstock circus, the girls were walking through the green, flowery fields donned head to toe in 70's, rock 'n' roll glam. Starting from the bottom, Hilfiger presented us with space-age, Ziggy Stardust metallic boots that would make a statement wherever you go. They come in electric colours and some even embellished with stars.

The band tees were revamped and turned into sequin dresses, so you can show the rocker in you through day to night, with a hint of glamour and sparkle. For the daywear, there are the kong floaty, floral dresses that dance with you and allow you to be free (mentally and physically with the sheer material #freethenipple). There was the Britney and Justin denim where the mismatched mess just looked right. Also, the breton stripes coming in bold metallics and statement red and black, Dennis the Menace style.

Hilfiger has given us girls the chance to create our own stomping ground with the glam and rock n roll of the 70's. He has given us sparkle and freedom, allowing us to shine in all situations.

Parisian Farmer

What I'm wearing: H&M blouse / Vintage dungarees / eBay boots

These Calvin Kleins are my sartorial boyfriend. Nobody will ever break us apart. Even after wearing them six days straight once, I'm still not sick of them. They are the comfiest item of clothing I own. No wonder why toddlers spend their days in them. I hope there isn't an age expiry date on dungarees as these shall live in my wardrobe until they start to fade away.

After re-reading Alexa Chung's book, I want to bathe my eyes in old French films. Also learn and watch everything Jane Birkin.

Indian Market Bargains

What I'm wearing: Missguided faux leather jacket / Camden Market top/dress / Topshop shorts / eBay boots / Camden Market bag

This is now my comfy outfit. This, lets call it a, tunic is the most comfortable thing I have ever owned. Also the lightest, the material just allows your skin to breathe. It's definitely something I would wear to galavant through a desert. The slouchy bag just looks as chill as everyone wants to be. It's just there, doing it's thing, hanging from your shoulder. Can you believe that the bag and the tunic together was £10! Camden Market is currently my favourite place in London. I shall be wearing this outfit one day at Reading Festival probably, being a free spirit and dancing with my best friends in the middle of a field.

King Of The Rodeo

What I'm wearing: vintage fringed jacket, zara slip dress, ebay boots

Texas and the stereotypes of Dallas and the rodeo has always appealed to me in some way. Whether it is the style or their way of life. The concentration on denim, studs and fringes. The patriotism. The free spirit, misfit way of life. Lets just say I want to be King of the Rodeo.

Ca Plane Pour Moi

What I'm wearing: Forever 21 top / Topshop jeans / Linzi shoes / Topshop hat

Ah I am so happy that I can now take blog photos in my bedroom! Lots more style posts will be coming your way now as I never have the time to take them whilst I am out and about. Also, I like the way you can see parts of my bedroom in my photo as it will truly show you my style, not just fashion-wise but interior as well.

Slightly obsessed with the saying "ca plane pour moi" as I really am living by it as well and it is also one of my favourite songs at the moment. So catchy and upbeat, really gets you up and dancing in the morning. If you don't know what song I am talking about by name, start listening to it and you will instantly know!

My style has really changed over the past couple of months but now I feel like I have truly found my style. This bohemian style where the clothes are mainly natural colours and free flowing makes me feel like I am a desert wanderer whenever and wherever I am. Also it's associated with that free spirited way of life where you let your feet do the talking. Ah obsessed! I can't wait for the day where my wardrobe is overflowing with Free People and Spell clothes. Free People Youtube channel is my current obsession and I am pretty sure I have watched every single video at least five times. I just can't stop. One day I want to be able to create a film that is as magical as theirs.

The National Bowl

Wearing: Urban Outfitters Hat, Little White Lies Top, Vintage Shorts, eBay Boots, La Moda Bag

On Sunday, my flatmate Catherine and I travelled to Milton Keynes to see Kings Of Leon headline their own mini festival with HAIM, Twin Atlantic and The Last Internationale performing alongside them. We were lucky enough to have warm weather and beautiful, bright sunny skies. There is nothing better than drinking and dancing in a field with the people you love and good music being performed live. These are my favourite kind of days! Kings Of Leon's performance was outstanding and tears were brewing when they played Taper Jean Girl since it is my happy song. It never fails to put me in a good mood. I'm so happy to be able to tick "See Kings Of Leon live" off of my bucket list as its a performance I shall never forget.
