London can get a little bit crazy and overwhelming. All the man made structures that tower over the streets and the businessmen storming down the winding paths, not taking in their surroundings, just trying to get from A to B. It is a constant go which can get to you sometimes. There's not really many places in the city which allow you to escape from it all. Nowhere really to bring you back down to earth. As someone who lives in such a tourist, booming part of London, I really enjoy and take in every moment I can get to escape the hectic day to day city life. Since moving here I really miss nature, the smell of freshly cut grass, anything green, anything pure and that hasn't been man made or corporate. Luckily for me I live a short walk away from two beautiful parks, Regents Park and Primrose Hill. My favourite one being Primrose. There is nothing like sitting at the summit of the hill, looking from a distance at all the intimidating structures that have popped up in the landscape over the years. It's like everything stands still for a while whilst you are up there. Being able to look from a distance at the city allows you take a deep breath, rest and restore before diving back in to reality. Without a place in London for me to escape to I'm not sure how I would cope. Living in such a busy place puts me on edge and sometimes all I need to do is runaway. No matter where you are in the world, I think it is healthy to have a place you can go to, to humble yourself and rejuvenate. Clear your mind and let yourself be inspired and open to anything that comes your way. Get the creativity flowing through your veins again. Whether this place be a park, the ocean, a hilltop, a yoga class or your parents house, go there as often as you can to let you, be you.
